NCSTT is a unique multidisciplinary research center at ITB devoted to conducting, supporting, and encouraging applied engineering and technology for transportation system. NCSTT is designated as the host for the national center of excellence for transportation by the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.
At NCSTT, we envision our research center as part of a national strategy to invest in the next generation of transportation technology to resolve current and future challenges. The goal is to develop an integrated transportation system that can support economic growth in Indonesia. Research activities in the NCSTT are grouped in three clusters: (1) Vehicle electrification, (2) Railways technology such as MRT, LRT, Monorel, Metro Capsul, (3) Aircraft design. These Research activities are aimed to establish an innovation ecosystem in the transportation industry to resolve critical issues such as pollution and traffic congestion. Faculty members and researchers in NCSTT are advancing the forefront of knowledge and technology.
NCSTT is built upon a 36-year history of innovation and sustained excellence in automotive, railway, and aerospace engineering. Today, NCSTT is supported by intellectual community that spans multiple schools, faculties, and laboratories throughout the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). Our expertise is matched by a shared culture of excellence and common appreciation for multidisciplinary collaboration.
