ITB and HIOKI Strengthen Collaboration in Science, Engineering, and Technology through Partnership Agreement Signing

Bandung, 2 July 2026 (SR) — Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and PT Hioki Electric Indonesia formalized their partnership through the signing of a cooperation agreement at the ITB Innovation Park (IIP) Summarecon, Bandung, on 2 July 2026. The agreement was signed by President Director of PT Hioki Electric Indonesia, Tisna Irawan, and Deputy Director for Business Development of ITB Innovation Park, Melia Famiola, S.T.P., M.T., Ph.D., representing Institut Teknologi Bandung.

The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry in research, technology development, facility utilization, training, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Through this collaboration, ITB’s academic and research capabilities are expected to be further connected with industry experience and practical needs.

One of the upcoming initiatives is the development of a joint training program on electric vehicle technology and battery safety, which will be developed in collaboration with the National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT) ITB. The program is intended for industry professionals and policymakers to enhance their understanding of electric vehicle and battery technologies, as well as safety aspects, in support of the acceleration of vehicle electrification.

As part of the program, NCSTT will contribute to the development of scientific and theoretical materials, as well as provide insights into the latest technological developments in electric vehicles and batteries. Meanwhile, Hioki will develop practical sessions relevant to industry needs, enabling the training to integrate conceptual understanding with hands-on skills.

To support the implementation of the joint programs, PT Hioki Electric Indonesia plans to establish a classroom on the 10th floor of ITB Innovation Park Summarecon, adjacent to the NCSTT laboratory. The proximity of these facilities is expected to facilitate more effective coordination of research, training, and technology development activities.

Through this partnership, ITB and PT Hioki Electric Indonesia are expected to establish a sustainable collaboration while strengthening competency development, innovation, and the application of technologies relevant to industry needs, particularly in supporting the development of Indonesia’s electric vehicle and battery ecosystem.
