Bandung, (SR) — A delegation from CAUSINDY visited ITB Innovation Park (IIP) Summarecon Bandung and the research facilities of the National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT) ITB to gain a closer understanding of the research and innovation activities currently being developed in the field of sustainable transportation technology.
One of the key activities during the visit was an introduction to the KONEKSI EV Battery Research Project, a collaborative research initiative involving researchers from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Curtin University, Australia. The project represents a tangible form of Indonesia–Australia research collaboration aimed at advancing electric vehicle battery technology and supporting the development of a sustainable battery ecosystem.
During the visit, the NCSTT team presented the scope, progress, and key achievements of the KONEKSI project. The CAUSINDY delegation also had the opportunity to visit three laboratories at NCSTT: the Battery Production Laboratory, Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory, and Destructive Testing Laboratory. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to observe firsthand the research facilities, laboratory capabilities, and various testing equipment developed and utilized to support research and testing activities related to electric vehicle batteries.
At each laboratory, the delegation engaged in discussions with NCSTT researchers on ongoing research activities, recent technological developments, and the utilization of laboratory facilities in supporting research on electric vehicle batteries.
The visit continued with a tour of the Dyno Test Workshop on the ground floor of ITB Innovation Park, where the delegation observed the e-trike prototype, one of the electric vehicles developed through the KONEKSI project. The prototype serves as an example of how research outcomes can be translated into practical applications to support the advancement of electric vehicle technology.
Through this visit, the CAUSINDY delegation gained a deeper understanding of the research and innovation ecosystem developed by NCSTT ITB. The visit also served as an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and explore broader opportunities for collaboration among researchers and institutions from Indonesia and Australia in the fields of electric vehicle technology and sustainable transportation.
